<itunes:subtitle>Breaking the minds of mankind, and answering
their calls.</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>From the vast eldritch depths of the ocean, beyond the reach of man's petty knowledge, lies an ancient terror which waits for itrsquo;s time to rise and lay waste to mankind. In its city of non-euclidean cruelty, it is held in the sleep of the dead. Or at least, the light afternoon-nap snooze of the dead. In fact, it's just awake enough to reach out to the minds of men, clutch at their dreams, and answer their calls. In Calls For Cthulhu, the great horror created H.P. Lovecraft shows his range by hosting a call-in show, where he dispenses advice, comedy and occasional harsh justice.</itunes:summary>

In 2007, Allison Duncan’s husband drained all of the bank accounts and kicked her out of the house, telling her “You are not welcome in my home.” A week later, his mistress moved in with him. This move left Allison homeless, penniless, and caring for a four-year-old child. She moved in with friends until she could find a job.

Her husband wanted Allison to give up all rightful claims to a fair split in the divorce, and he was incensed to find out that his eviction did not drive her to submit to his demands. He ambushed her with legal proceedings, surprise hearings, and most recently, abuse charges. He was outraged when a judge agreed with Allison, and required him to pay child support. Since that time, he has consistently refused to pay child support, leaving him over five-thousand dollars behind.

For years we have been fighting to keep this child in a safe environment with her mother. Her husband argues that spanking a child at all is abuse, despite the fact that he used to spank her before the split. If you are here, you know us. You know we would never abuse a child. He is doing everything in his power to manipulate the courts into taking Allison’s child away, so that he can force her to capitulate to his demands.

We will fight. We must fight. But the fight is taking it’s toll. We are now thousands of dollars into debt, and the recent abuse charges are going to require new costs for therapists, more legal help, and lots of long-distance travelling. We desperately need help.

I know this is a bad time for the tribe. The recent loss of Natalie Morris is fresh in our minds, as is the horrific disaster in Haiti. But we cannot hold off for a better time. We cannot stop fighting, and we desperately need your help.

There isn’t much I can offer in return. We can offer our heartfelt thanks to all who assist, and you will know that you have made a difference in the life of this wonderful little girl.

Thank you.

If you’re a fan of science fiction, you’ve probably heard of Spider Robinson. He’s a modern successor to Robert A. Heinlein, and writes amazing sci-fi, mostly about human interaction.

What’s less well known is that his wife, Jeanne, has been battling cancer for some time, and it has nearly broken them financially.

I met this guy once at a convention. And while everyone there worshipped him like a pagan god, he and his wife still had time to sit and chat with shlubs like me. I’m honored to say that I’ve given him a pun (read the Callahan Chronicles to understand how cool that is).

These are good people. Noble, wise, and kind people. They deserve our help, and here’s my way of giving it to them.

For the next few days, from now until December 31st, 50% of every sale from the Cthulhu store will be donated directly to the Robinsons.

So help out people who deserve it, and get yourself a little plush madness in the meantime.

So, go ahead. Check it out. Did you know there’s a card game? Haven’t you always wanted a Cthulhu plush hat?

That morbid curiosity that draws all men inexorably down into forbidden research compels you to view this horrific transgression . . . and shop.

You round the corner of the cliff wall bordering the beach, and nearly stumble into a huge group of dancing frog-lobster guys. Fortunately, you manage to duck behind an outcropping before they notice you.

They’re dancing around a guy — a regular guy, not a frog-lobster guy — in a black hooded robe, who stands facing the ocean with his arms raised. He shouts “Ia Kermithulhu! Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Kermithulhu R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn! Fhtagn katamari damashi’i!” You hear a rumble of thunder in the distance as the dancers shout “Iaglurblurlurhurlglururb!”

“Oh Great Green One, hear my summons!” shouts the man. “The stars are in alignment! Rise from your watery slumber!” The ground begins to shake ominously as he throws his head back and shrieks “Rise! The time of awakening is at hand!”

A gargantuan tentacle, dripping with slime and horror, rises lazily from the ocean depths and slams down on the robed man with the accuracy of a 9-to-5er slapping the snooze bar, smashing him flat and scattering the frog-lobster guys in a panic.

A deep, phlegm-laden voice rumbles, not in your ears, but directly in your brain:

GIMME FIVE MORE EONS.

All in all, it’s a mind-expanding experience.

The C4CPodcast is a podcast ABOUT the show. It’s an audio-only podcast, where we have interviews, viewer questions about how the show is made, fun Lovecraftian facts, and some audio-only Cthulhu answers.

I’m working directly with the makers of the C4CPodcast, so I get a lot of chances to answer questions that step outside of the show (like how the set was built, where did I get the puppet, and what are we planning for future episodes).

The link is here. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
